Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
This policy covers the Mushaf Raqsh app for iPhone and iPad, developed by Raqsh Systems. In short: the app does not collect any data about you, and sends nothing about you to us or anyone else.
What we don't collect
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No ads, no analytics or tracking tools, and no third-party libraries.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone or camera. Location is used only on your device, if you allow it (see “Location” below).
- We don't know what you read or listen to, or what you bookmark.
What stays on your device
Your settings (appearance, mushaf type, reciter, reminder time, prayer-time and notification settings), the last page you read, your bookmarks, your khatma plan, any recitations you download, and the place saved for prayer times. All of this is stored only on your device and never reaches us. It is all removed if you delete the app.
Internet connection
The Quran text and Al-Tafsir Al-Muyassar are built into the app and work offline. The app connects to the internet only to download recitations and the tafsir audio, from the servers of the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex, and from King Saud University's Ayat project for Sheikh Ali Al-Huthaify's ayah-by-ayah recitation. As with any download, those servers receive the technical information a connection needs, such as your IP address, under their own policies. We send no information about you with these requests.
Location (prayer times and Qibla)
To calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction, the app asks for location permission “while using the app” only, or you can pick your city from a list in the app without any permission. All calculation happens on your device, offline, and your city name comes from a city list built into the app. Your location is never sent to us or anyone else; the last place is saved only on your device so notification times can be calculated. You can turn the permission off in your device settings at any time.
Notifications
If you turn on the khatma reminder or prayer notifications, the app asks for notification permission. Notifications are scheduled on your device itself and pass through no server. To keep upcoming days scheduled, the system may refresh them in the background from time to time, without any internet connection. You can turn them off in the app or in your device settings.
External links
The app has links that open in your browser, such as the King Fahd Complex website, our website, and our Instagram account. Those sites are governed by their own policies.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes in how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
